Grain bin manufacturers are recommending if farmers need grain bins replaced or added to their farms by fall harvest to act soon. Demand is that strong — the strongest some manufacturers have seen in 10 years — and most of it’s coming from the farm side. Though there are some commercial grain facilities in line to erect new bins, on-farm storage demand is surging and expected to continue to stay that way with strong grain prices. Other ag sectors are experiencing record production, too, and that’s adding to the overall demand. Some manufacturers say they’re already booked until as late as August, and any continued complications related to the COVID-19 pandemic could add to the delays. See more on the situation.
