Domestic beef demand remains strong, according to a recent report from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA). 2022 research shows that despite various challenges faced by the industry, consumers have repeatedly stated they’ll keep purchasing the home-grown product both in restaurants and at the grocery store.
While inflation has impacted everyone’s pocketbooks, more than three-quarters of consumers (78%) say they’ve noticed the price uptick. But beef continues to see a lower level of inflation than other proteins. The COVID-19 pandemic led 94% of consumers to cook at home. In a post-pandemic country, that number remains strong at 76%. Meatloaf and other comfort recipes remain one of the most popular beef-centric meals.
