Like many in the U.S. and around the world, farmers have faced a tough year in 2020. New data show crop insurance has played an integral role in contributing to a strong safety net for farmers who have faced massive uncertainty in production, marketing and financial management in the last year. Farmers and ranchers purchased 1.1 million crop insurance policies in 2020, protecting around 400 million acres, to sustain operations essential to the continuity of the food and ag supply chains.
