Senate Ag Committee Ranking Member John Boozman says effort is being made to finish the Farm Bill by October 1 or “for sure by the end of the year.” Boozman cites election-year politics that can muddy the farm bill timeline but assures constituents the committee has been working hard on the farm bill since April 2022.
Since that time, Boozman says they’ve had about 20 full committee and subcommittee hearings and have heard from stakeholders in several states. Listening sessions across the country have contributed to the bipartisan support the farm bill is known for.
