Ohio’s Corn and soybeans look noticeably stronger than other weather-affected crops in states like Iowa, Illinois, or Indiana. The Pro Farmer Crop Tour kicked off this week with pleasant observations in Ohio. The Eastern Corn Belt could be the shining star of this year’s tour, which includes crop scouts, farmers, crop adjusters, elevator managers, USDA staff and more.
While soil in Ohio isn’t known to be as productive as the more central areas of the Corn Belt, the state hasn’t faced too much disease or pest presence this year. In fact, some analysts say the crop yield could be as good as 2021’s bin buster. Starting in Columbus, the tour heads to Indianapolis Tuesday.
