USDA’s August report showed beef, pork and poultry supplies in cold storage is 14% lower than August 2020, with high prices limiting the ability to build inventory. While most cuts are up (roughly 4%) from July, USDA reports decreases for all meat in cold storage. Frozen pork supplies showed the least change, with a 1% decline while pork bellies declined a dramatic 44% in one year.
