As soon as this week, the Biden Administration is expected to bring forth a new executive order which will increase competition in the meat industry with the ultimate goal of protecting livestock producers. The new rule will make it easier for independent family-owned cattle farms and ranchers to sue contracted companies for unfair, discriminatory or deceptive practices. More defined direction for what qualifies meat to be labeled as “Product of USA” is also expected to be included in the plan.
