Unusual heat has plagued the Pacific Northwest this summer, with onion growers in Idaho and eastern Oregon reporting the temperatures hovering around 100 degrees since late June. This extended period of abnormally high temperatures have adversely impacted the crop. Coupled with a dry, windy spring and smoke from wildfires, growers aren’t anticipating a bin-buster.
