A farmer survey conducted last month shows resounding sentiment that indicates a combination of continued strong export demand and a smaller-than-expected 2020 crop will contribute to the tightest U.S. soybean supply in years. The data come ahead of Thursday’s USDA annual crop data that will confirm the nation’s crop size as demand from the livestock sector — at home and abroad — continues to vie for bushels. Corn yields are also expected to be lower than earlier estimates for the 2020 crop, which analysts expect to contribute to continued surging prices. The survey also revealed just how much strain weather challenges created for farmers in 2020, who now look ahead to the next year in hopes of a more stable, consistent weather year.
