The Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) has launched the Conservation Connector online platform. This free online tool is designed to help farmers, ranchers and advisers identify conservation incentive programs that fit their specific needs.

According to CTIC Executive Director Ryan Heiniger, who is also a fourth-generation farmer, finding the right conservation programs has traditionally been a time-consuming and confusing process. It often requires visits to multiple government offices and websites. The new platform simplifies this process by consolidating resources into a single, searchable site.

Currently, the platform hosts about 500 programs and service providers in the Midwest. It will be continually updated from trusted agencies, organizations and conservation partners.

Users can search by geography, commodity, incentive type, or management practice. This enables them to filter relevant opportunities quickly. Heiniger emphasizes that the resource is completely free, with no paywalls for users or program providers who want to be listed.

The idea for the Conservation Connector was developed through collaboration with Houston Engineering, The Nature Conservancy and Open Team. CTIC invested 18 months in its development. Farmers, ranchers, and conservation partners nationwide are encouraged to explore the tool at Connector.ag and share feedback to shape future improvements.
