Cheyenne, Wyoming is being considered for a major meat packing plant build. How major? According to Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins, a $1.1 billion plant has pinpointed his city after previously considering Rapid City, South Dakota.
The plant developer Western Legacy Development was shut down by Rapid City’s Black Hills Industrial Center developer who said the area does not have space to accommodate a plant so large. Mayor Collins said the plant would be built in a way that prevents the smells normally associated with a packing plant. If the plant comes to fruition, it will reside in the city’s Swan Ranch Business Park.
