Recent USDA crop reports show continued progress for 2021 corn and soybeans plantings — up 5% and 9% respectfully from last week. The new numbers equal out to corn being 95% complete and soybeans at 84% complete as of Sunday, May 30. Corn crop and winter wheat quality ratings also showed positive numbers — corn even coming in 6% above the average. Corn quality was at a 76% good-to-excellent rating with winter wheat at 48% in good-to-excellent. Spring wheat quality decreased 2%, equating to 43% in good-to-excellent condition.
