This year’s weather headlines kept U.S. ag producers on their toes. What will 2023 bring? According to ag meteorologists. Cold weather will likely continue into January and maintain colder-than-normal conditions across the northern and eastern U.S. February is predicted to bring warmer temperatures in the central and western portions of the country which could make for some interesting bouts of winter weather for the Plains and Midwest.
Come spring, La Niña should lose its hold, paving the way for a more neutral weather pattern. This shift is expected to bring wetter weather to the Great Plains and the western corn belt. However, despite the beneficial precipitation anticipated, its likely it will bring only mild relief to ongoing drought conditions in the driest parts of the country.
