The Port of New Orleans is critical infrastructure for moving U.S. grain to global export partners, and it’s a region that took a major hit when Hurricane Laura made landfall last week. The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) is working with NOAA and FEMA to make aerial imagery of the affected region available to gauge damage that could affect the region’s ag producers or the infrastructure important to moving U.S. ag products to the global market.
