After what was deemed as a successful carbon pilot program in 2020, Bayer recently announced details for a full launch of the Bayer Carbon Program, which includes a partnership with CHS Inc, one of the nation’s leading cooperatives that is comprised of 75,000 farmer members and 900 local cooperatives. Through this partnership, farmers will be eligible for two types of payments: a $3, $6, $9/acre incentive paid out through Bayer, as well as financial incentives through CHS for farmers who use their enhanced efficiency fertilizers. Bayer is touting the simplicity, flexibility and certainty of the program as the main benefits for farmers to consider enrolling.
With carbon incentives continuing to be a popular topic, it’s important for farmers to evaluate the various options available to determine if it’s a good fit for their operation. Read more on the Bayer Carbon Program here.
