Data released by the USDA and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) show that Pork and Beef exports remain strong from a diversified market base.

In the the first quarter, of 2024, pork exports increased 6% to 762,784 metric tons. The value of these exports climbed 7% to $2.11 billion. Bolstering this performance, March shipments to South Korea were among the largest on record. Exports to Central America, Colombia, Oceania and Malaysia also experienced strong growth.

First-quarter beef exports decreased by 4% to 311,865 metric tons, but the export value increased by 6% to $2.48 billion. In March the Carribean imported the third largest volume on record. Other growth markets included South Korea, Mexico, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Central America, Colombia, the Philippines and Singapore.
