Canadian Minister of Agriculture Marie-Claude Bibeau says the country will ratify the US Mexico Canada Agreement soon.
“We are going through our normal legislative process, but I can tell you it’s on the fast track,” she says.
During the USDA’s Agricultural Outlook Forum on Friday, Bibeau said she wanted to reassure everyone that Canada is committed to ratifying the agreement.
“I don’t see any significant challenges and we should be able to proceed soon,” she says.
Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue hosted a “Feeding the World through Innovation” panel and was joined by Bibeau, Mexico Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Victor Villalobos, and Argentina Minister of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries Luis Basterra.
