This Friday, Dec. 11, is the deadline to apply for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 and Dairy Margin Coverage Program. Thus far, there are more than 700,000 CFAP2 applications, with more crop farmers than livestock producers submitting applications thus far this time around. Iowa leads the nation in CFAP2 applications, with just over $1.2 billion in applications already submitted, while farmers in Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, North Dakota, Indiana and South Dakota round out the largest contributors to overall applications for acreage-based CFAP payments. Texas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Kansas livestock producers lead the nation thus far in terms of applications for livestock payments in CFAP. If you’re applying for CFAP2 assistance or the Dairy Margin Coverage Program, you have until this Friday, Dec. 11 to get your application in. See more on both programs here.
