China’s Hog, Pork Production to Decline Significantly in 2022

Lower prices and disease outbreaks continue to temper China’s hog and pork production. A USDA report predicts hog production to decline by 5% and pork production by 14% in 2022. How production responds to demand in 2022 will depend on how high pork prices are allowed to climb as supplies tighten.
