A lawsuit filed recently by the executrix of a southern Illinois farm estate has grown to a class action alleging a group of crop input providers — including some of the world’s largest seed and chemical companies — used practices “denying farmers accurate product information, including pricing information.” The suit names 13 companies as defendants, including some of the world’s largest seed and chemical companies like Bayer and Corteva and largest cooperatives in the Midwest like Nutrien Ag Solutions and Growmark. Most defendants have issued statements denying the allegations as the plaintiff is said to be seeking a jury trial for the class action lawsuit. See the details and company responses.
