In its latest annual survey of those consumer trends from a major industry publisher, potatoes, tomatoes and onions top out the list of consumer purchases on the vegetable side, while bananas, apples and strawberries remain the top three sellers in the fruit sector. Consumers also expressed increasing demand across both sectors, with 54% surveyed saying they are eating more fresh produce than a year ago.
