Corn and soybean plantings are 90% and 75% complete, respectively, according to the latest USDA NASS’ Crop Progress report, released on Monday. This year’s soybean planting rate is the fastest recorded pace in over 12 years — up 12% this ahead of last year at this time. Cooperative tempatures have also aided favorable soybean crop emergence rates with 41% of the crop coming through as of this past Sunday. Corn emergence reached 64% as of Sunday, 10% ahead of the five-year average, and 3% ahead of its emergence rate from last year. See more from Monday’s report.
