USDA’s latest Crop Progress Report showed yet another decline in corn and soybean conditions. Released Monday, the report showed 55% of corn rated good to excellent, down 2 percentage points from last week. Soybeans dropped 1 percentage point to 57% good to excellent. Corn progress has 97% of corn silking, 2 points behind the five-year average. Meanwhile, 97% of soybeans were reported blooming, on par with the five-year average and 57% rated good to excellent (1 point ahead of prior year).
Winter wheat harvest is reported 95% complete, 2 points behind the five-year average and spring wheat harvest is 33% completed as of Sunday, a whopping 41 points behind last year and 21 points behind the five-year average.
