Corn and soybean harvests are on par or ahead of the 5-year average, according to USDA’s most recent Crop Progress Report, released Monday. Crop quality also slightly improved since the last conditions rating, with both corn (59% good-to-excellent) and soybeans (58% good-to-excellent) gaining a point. More than half of the soybean crop (58%) is now dropping leaves, compared to 38% last week. Meanwhile, U.S. pasture and range condiitons continue to decline, dropping a point from last week (24% good-to-excellent) with nearly half of the land rated poor to very poor (46%).
