Widespread drought and damage from the derecho storm that hit parts of the Corn Belt early in the month made a dent in corn and soybean conditions, as reported in the latest USDA Crop Progress report released this week. Analysts now expect a 175-bushel corn yield average and 52-bushel soybean yield.
