Cropland rental prices are on a slow-but-steady rise, according to data collected by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). A recent review of the service’s new U.S. cropland rental map outlined areas where steep cash rents are occurring, primarily in Western states. The average price currently sits at $141 per acre — this $2 higher than last year and a $7 increase from just five years ago. View the NASS map and see price average differences by state.
