June 1 kicked off the first summer with year-round E15 availability for American drivers. Amidst record-high gas prices averaging $4.67/gallon across the U.S., biofuel provides a cost-focused solution for motorists, as 31 states now offer the homegrown ethanol blend.
Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor says ethanol is friendlier on the wallet and the environment. She reports nationwide, E15 would slash climate emissions by 46%, removing 17.62 million tons of carbon over its petroleum-based counterpart.
The E15 summer allowance is welcomed news for U.S. corn growers, as collective checkoff dollars help drive the increase in corn demand, fueling additional profit opportunities for farmers.
