Early-planted soybeans may make the difference in yield gains, according to an Agoro Carbon Alliance agronomist. Better, more capable equipment has helped farmers get in the field quicker and with more capacity. Earlier planting dates also give soybeans more opportunity for vegetative growth before the summer equinox.
However, early planting could mean different things for different areas. Southern Illinois growers may see the immense value, but the same planting date could hold a different meaning for a grower in Central Iowa. Early planting could also contribute to better resiliency among soybeans, including better weed control.
