Fertilizer prices continue to trend downward in the middle of October compared to last month. Starter fertilizer 10-34-0 saw a significant drop for the second week in a row. In the last six weeks, starter fertilizer is the only fertilizer showing a significant drop, defined by DTN as 5% or greater. Averaging a price of $759 per ton, producers are paying 12% less than last month.
Other fertilizers recorded drops of 2% or higher, including DAP, MAP and potash. Meanwhile, anhydrous, urea and UAN saw price jumps between 1% and 4% this month. However, despite the drops, all fertilizers continue to be considerably higher in price than last year.
