This week’s USDA crop progress report showed little changes from the week prior. Around 64% of U.S. corn and 59% of soybeans were categorized as good-to-excellent condition, the third lowest in the past 12 years. Only 10% of the corn crop has reached the silking stage which is behind the five-year average of 14%. Winter wheat good-to-excellent ratings are sitting at 47% and spring 16%, with hot, dry weather pushing the spring crop far below the 70% rating at this time last year.
