Bill Northey’s a recognized agricultural leader in Iowa and around the country, and now that his term as USDA Undersecretary has concluded, the former Iowa ag secretary and National Corn Growers Association president is returning to his home state and continuing his focus on farm conservation, ethanol and rural development as a consultant for the Walton Family Foundation and its funding partners. Among the challenges he expects to take up is the shift to electric vehicles and what it means to the ethanol industry, as well as water quality and the growing carbon trade for farmers.
