Black angus cow looking directly at cameraThe global demand for U.S. beef and pork continues to look strong for 2026, according to the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF). This is despite ongoing challenges from the economy, tariffs and a tighter beef supply. Industry experts are optimistic about key free trade agreement partners, such as Mexico and Central America, as well as the growing interest in Asia and Africa.

New USDA initiatives, like the America’s First Trade Promotion Program (AFTPP), launched in late 2025, will help boost trade expansion. This program will help promote and expand the exports of agricultural commodities, including beef, into emerging markets. The USMEF notes that as the global middle-class population continues to grow, the biggest long-term opportunity is in the muscle cuts of beef and pork.
