Though high prices are good for producers, they can sometimes come back around to bit you. That’s one thing to watch for in 2021 for both grain farmers and end-users like dairy producers, one economist says. Higher corn and soybean prices, for example, could squeeze margins for dairy, poultry producers and others in the animal protein sector, causing them to slow down grain purchases and seek other alternatives to minimize the profit margin hit.
