A new amendment to the H-2A temporary ag worker program will hopefully resolve a longstanding labor shortage issue in dairy and other ag sectors. The current H-2A program provides temporary or seasonal labor visas to migrant workers but does little to help year-round operations. If passed, the amendment will allow farm employers to use the H-2A visa program to hire foreign workers year-round to supplement their domestic workforce. The vote passed the House committee and will now move on to the senate. Learn more about the amendment.
