The American Hereford Association’s 2022 feedout programs saw a record 756 head enrolled across the country. 104 participants from 17 states enrolled Hereford or Hereford-influenced steers into the Hereford Feedout Program (HFP), which launched in 2020. Producers enrolled receive carcass data that they can then use for breeding strategy. The American Hereford Association says the great growth seen in the program is a testament to the values producers are receiving.
Cattle enrolled are fed in Scott City, Kansas and producers have access to an industry-leading market grid offered by U.S. Premium Beef. This allows participating cattle to be candidates for the Certified Hereford Beef brand through National Beef Packing Company.
