Applications are now being accepted for the Illinois Department of Agriculture Fall Covers for Spring Savings Program. Now in its fourth year, the program is for Illinois growers who planted fall cover crops this year and will be planting an insurable crop in 2023.
Applications can be submitted via this link and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants will be required to certify that their cover crops are approved by their local FSA office before applying. An FSA-578 form and federal crop insurance policy number(s) are required. The program was designed to encourage additional acres of cover crops throughout the state by offering crop insurance discounts.
