Beyond Meat packaged on a shelfFake meat manufacturer Beyond Meat, Inc. is facing a lawsuit regarding false protein claims. A complaint originating from Southern Iowa accuses the company of misrepresenting protein in nine products. The complaint argues that Beyond Meat miscalculated and overstated the protein content on their labeling, website and promotional materials.

The court documents reveal independent lab testing results that show lower grams of protein and a lower percent daily value than stated on Beyond Meat labeling. The Iowa-based consumers have stated they would not have made the purchases if they knew the nutritional content was different than what they were led to believe.
