John Deere launched the Operations Center PRO Service digital repair tool amid the ongoing FCC v. John Deere Right to Repair lawsuit. The tool enables U.S. and Canadian equipment owners to diagnose, repair and maintain their machinery through the John Deere Operations Center app.

The tool costs $195 per tractor per year for farmers and $5,995 annually for independent service providers. This includes 10 downloads.

This tool replaces the older Customer Service ADVISOR. It promises improved access to machine diagnostics, manuals, software reprogramming, interactive tests, and calibrations. Critics previously claimed Customer Service ADVISOR lacked full functionality and limited independent repairs. This new release addresses those concerns with real-time support and model-specific content.

John Deere says independent technicians can use the tool with the owner’s permission. However, some restrictions and limitations exist at launch. Advanced features like software reprogramming may require an electronic data link.

John Deere states the update reaffirms its support for self-repair. The company aims to improve ownership experiences. Future updates are promised. The move is viewed as a strategic response to legal and public scrutiny regarding farmers’ right to repair their equipment.
