After several surprises came from the March release, the pork industry was eager to see the June USDA Hogs and Pigs Report. The biggest shock overall from the report in March was the reduced number of sows which fell 3% from the same time last year. The new June report still showed inventory down 2% from this time last year, but up 1% from the March 2021 report. The U.S. pork inventory currently sits at 75.7 million head.
