According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), tractor and combine sales remained steady for another month. Four-wheel drive tractor sales increased by an average of 51.5% for January through May 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. Combine sales are also up for the same period compared to 2022.
Curt Blades, AEM’s senior vice president, notes the increase in sales points in two directions. First, he believes the technological advances available to farmers are enticing enough to make a sound investment in their businesses. Second, he believes farmers are feeling optimistic about commodity prices — allowing them to add the equipment to their operation.
