Service is essential in the crop insurance industry. As ProAg team members work each day to protect American farmers and ranchers, creating policies and processing claims are more than business transactions. They are creating a safety net to help ensure the effort of raising crops and livestock isn’t lost to severe weather or unexpected events.
The same dedication to service extends to supporting their fellow ProAg team members. ProAg is proud to announce Underwriting Manager Lisa Beckman earned the Outstanding Service Award, presented at the All-Employee Gathering in March 2023.
This award truly highlights the talent and dedication found across the ProAg team. That’s worth celebrating.
The Outstanding Service Award is given to a ProAg team member who demonstrates the company’s core values of accountability, effective communication, customer focus, resourcefulness and trustworthiness. The award also aligns with ProAg’s desire to Be a Good Company under the vision of Tokio Marine HCC, ProAg’s parent company. Nominees were also evaluated on other contributions to the company, including continuous improvement in their roles, problem-solving capabilities, leadership qualities, teamwork and the ability to implement positive change. Lisa was selected from a pool of 40 employees, all nominated by fellow ProAg team members.
“I’m so honored to receive this award,” said Lisa. “Knowing that ProAg team members across the company nominated me means so much.”
More about Lisa Beckman, as told by her nominators
“Lisa’s work ethic is unmatched. Regardless of the multiple tasks and issues at hand, Lisa has the ability to give her full attention to the issue at hand and truly listen to the problem,” said Tyler Feterl, sales operation manager at ProAg. “Lisa is a model for what ProAg should consider outstanding service, both internally and externally.”
Lisa was awarded for her continuous efforts to support the ProAg team across product lines and projects. She is a trusted subject matter expert who brings well-rounded experience to her work, offering her teammates a critical resource on the job.
“Lisa has an extensive skillset and knowledge base, and she makes the best of both,” adds Doug Ruba, business implementation lead at ProAg and another of Lisa’s nominators. “For as busy as she is, she is always quick to respond to emails and always does so with a positive attitude.”
There were more than 40 outstanding nominees for the award this year, highlighting how much ProAg team members appreciate each other.
Her nominators highlighted her willingness to answer questions and work through challenges as a team. She was also recognized for her ability to acknowledge, clarify and respond to an issue — a process and skill that makes her coworkers confident she will help the team arrive at a smart solution. Lastly, her nominations featured her work behind the scenes to test new features or work through issues. Even though those hours are difficult to track, they emphasize the commitment Lisa has to her team.
“Lisa Beckman is an incredible asset to the ProAg team, as are her fellow award nominees,” said Kendall Jones, ProAg president and CEO. “This award truly highlights the talent and dedication found across the ProAg team. That’s worth celebrating.”
