The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced Tuesday livestock haulers will now be exempt from the hours-of-service (HOS) requirements through the end of November, extending the original exemption granted in March 2020. Originally set to expire August 31, the exemption grants not only the livestock industry, but grocers and other food-chain players more flexibility to keep shelves stocked during pandemic times.
