After industry groups filed a lawsuit against recently against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for allowing Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) waivers that keep them from integrating ethanol and biodiesel into their fuel output, more waivers are now expected to come as early as this week. It’s another blow to the renewable fuel industry, and the corn and soybean industries are admittedly not happy about the decision that has only been obliquely acknowledged by EPA officials. An announcement is expected either later this week or early next week, and will attempt to add to the 32 pending EPA waiver petitions pending for the 2019 compliance year.
