The majority of retailers participating in a recent DTN survey say prices (some already at multi-year lows) as of mid-October continue to trend lower for some key crop fertilizer products. UAN28 was down around five percent from a month ago, and potash, urea, anhydrous and UAN32 were all slightly lower while MAP and DAP were slightly higher. In the same survey, more than a third of farmers said they’re already considering buying fertilizer for spring 2021, while 30% said they’ll buy as needed this fall. Smaller percentages said they’ve already purchased fertilizer, won’t be buying at all. Bringing up the rear were the six percent of farmers surveyed who said they purchased needed fertilizer as far back as spring. See more results from the survey.
