Due largely to the COVID-19 pandemic and its limitations on group gatherings and in no reflection of the health of 4-H as a national organization, the National 4-H Council is putting the National 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland, up for sale. The facility has been closed since March 2020 and there’s no timeframe for resuming guests an activities because of both local and global meeting and travel restrictions. With the facility’s sale, National 4-H Council leaders say they’re turning their focus to investments in youth development programs and “expanding opportunities for America’s youth through increased investment and participation” to better serve its 6 million youth members nationwide. Even after the building’s sale, National 4-H will remain based in the Washington, D.C., area at a new location to be determined. See more.
