U.S. senators from both parties came together to introduce a bill that would expand ethanol access with the hope of also boosting U.S. corn demand for farmers. The bill essentially extends the sale period of E-15 (15% ethanol) fuel to be allowed year-round versus the current partial-year requirements which restricts summertime sales. Lawmakers also highlighted the many benefits of higher ethanol fuel blends such as reduced carbon dioxide emissions. See more details about the proposal.
