The Net Merit report, a tool introduced in 1994 for the benefit of dairy producers, will see significant updates. Using the report at a resource, producers can use the national genetic selection index — Net Merit — for breeding information to make more profitable and feed-efficient cows. New updates, effective August 10, will include access to three new traits: Feed Saved, Heifer Livability and Early First Calving. There will now be over 40 traits within the report — see the full list.
