Fed cattle trades stayed solid last week give or take $1. Northern cattle sold for $123-$125 lives with dressed cattle going for $197-$200. Southern territory cattle went for $118-$120 (around $2 lower than last week). In the Southeast and South-Central states, feeders went for $2-$6 per cwt. higher at auctions as well. Analysts cite July 4 holiday specials and BBQ gatherings as primary motivators for recent sales. See a more detailed breakdown of the industry numbers.
