Strong winds and extremely low relative humidity are driving National Weather Service (NWS) Red Flag Warnings for fire danger in portions of Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma as fall harvest continues. A red flag warning is issued when dry and very windy conditions could readily contribute to rapid fire growth potential. The conditions call for adherence to local burn bans and strong NWS encouragement to be wary of any burning and activity that could ignite dry grass or other potential tinder with equipment or field operations.
