Fresh data showed U.S. dairy exports soared this past November, rising 19% in volume and 32% year over year. In total, exports amounted to 76,422 metric tons – a November record. Nonfat dry milk/skim milk powder and cheese showed the most growth of 25% and 40%, respectively, according to the U.S. Dairy Export Council. SE Asia was the largest customer, with shipments 37% ahead of November 2020. Vietnam helped lead the charge with a 292% year over year growth and the Philippines showed a 76% increase in demand.
The U.S. Dairy Export Council said strong international and domestic demand, combined with poor production rates from competitors led to the accelerated sales to close out the year and demand continues to appear favorable in the months ahead.
